What is Genius Hour?
Global Genius Hour is a cool project we did this year. It is a chance to learn about a new topic and present it in a fun way. Students get the freedom of choosing what they want to learn about instead of a teacher telling them what to do. It all starts with a question or a wondering.

Here's What We Did...
In our language arts classroom, we did Genius Hour during our Lit Centers. There had 5 categories of choices, but freedom for our own intersts and creativty in each choice. They were game designer, storyteller, mix master, author, or artist. You choose one category, and a topic and get started! We worked on projects almost every day once we started. You can also do it all in one day like most people and spend a whole day doing it, but just for that one day (that's how we did Innovation Day). We also brought in resources to help us too. We used Google Drive to keep track of our research so our teacher could see it too. By using Drive, we had the opportunity to get feedback from our peers and Mrs. Ramsay. Everyone enjoyed the projects, and learned so much about their wondering topic. Genius Hour is a great experience for everyone.
